New Student Information!
Dear Parents,
Welcome to Platinum Performing Arts! I am so excited to meet all of our new students! Because we are starting in the middle of the month, August tuition will be pro-rated. The rates are as follows for each age group.
Ages 2-4/ $10 tuition + $15 registration fee = $25 due today
Ages 5-9/ $14 tuition + $15 registration fee = $29 due today
Ages 10 & up/ $18 tuition + $15 registration fee = $33 due today
If you want to prepay for September today the rates are as follows.
Ages 2-4/ August $25 + September $25 = $50
Ages 5-9/ August $29 + September $35 = $64
Ages 10 and up/ August $33 + September $45 = $78
December is a short month, so I am pro-rating that month’s tuition as well. Tuition for each month is due the first day of class of each month. A $5 late fee will be due along with tuition after the 2nd week of class for the month.
Our classes include singing, dancing and tumbling so please send your student to class in appropriate attire. They should be dressed in clothes that will allow them to move. Please don’t send them in jeans; it’s especially hard for them to stretch if they aren’t dressed right.
Students will also need a pair of black dance shoes. Shoes can usually be found at Payless or Walmart for younger students. Older students can purchase a pair of dance shoes from Dance Magic or online. Please ask if you have any questions about what type to buy. Please make sure and bring them with their dance shoes for class. It’s hard to do turns and leaps without the right shoes, and socks are too slippery!
I will send home information about costume fees, along with your student’s new t-shirt and a practice CD at the end of September. Please encourage your child to listen to the CD a few times a week. This will help to reinforce what we are learning in class.
Because I keep my classes small, I like to know when students will be missing class. I would appreciate a text or a call if you know your student isn’t going to be able to make it.
We will be following the

You could be the first Miss Southern Utah Outstanding Teen 2010!
The local pageant will be held August 21st, 2010. This year’s production number will be My Strongest Suit from the musical Aida. Contestants will be required to find their own outfits for this number. Costumes must be approved by director. We recommend that each contestant finds a dress that is flattering, modest and a reflection of her personality. Any brightly colored knee length dress that looks crisp and flashy will do. Contestants will learn a simple routine for the opening number and their costume should be comfortable and allow movement. Have fun choosing something that you love!
There is a commitment fee of $50 per contestant. The commitment fee will be due on June 19th along with your properly completed contract. The contract can be completed and printed on www.missuoteen.com click on LOCAL CONTESTANT CONTRACT. PDF. In addition to the contract and commitment fee, contestants will need to provide an 8 x 10 headshot and one wallet due July 10th! The headshot and wallet will be returned after the pageant is over.
We will be providing 3 workshops this summer to help prepare contestants for the competition. Workshops are not required but are highly recommended.
Saturday June 19th – Interview workshop @ 12 noon at Dance Magic Studios. Please bring $50 commitment fee and contract! If you can’t be at the workshop please make arrangements to have them handed in before June 19th.

Saturday August 14th- (Required) Production number rehearsal @ 12 noon at Dance Magic Studios. We will be learning the production number and reviewing and answering any questions contestants might have.
Friday August 20th – (Required) Dress Rehearsal @ 6 pm at Dance Magic Studios. We will draw contestant numbers tonight! Please come prepared with everything you will need on the night of the pageant!
Saturday August 21st- Pageant Day! We will begin the day with personal interviews @ Dance Magic Studios at 12 noon. Contestants will be required to be at the pageant venue at 5 pm to review production number, walking pattern and rehearse their talent on stage with the tech crew. Doors will open to the public at 6:30 pm, and the pageant will begin at 7 pm!
Each contestant will be required to sell at least 10 tickets. For every 10 that are sold, the contestant will receive 2 free tickets to use however they choose. Tickets are $5 for adults, $3 for children 12 and younger, and $20 for an immediate family ticket. All proceeds help cover pageant expenses and go towards future winner scholarships.

I created Platinum Performing Arts Center so that parents could get the most for their money! Our students learn how to sing, act, dance and tumble in the same place! After all, they are all connected! Dancers that can sing, get bigger parts in plays, and singers that can dance and tumble, get a lot more opportunities than singers that can only sing! Platinum Performing Arts will provide your child with experience and confidence in each of these areas!
